Here’s My Story

Hello, I’m Marcus welcome to my blog!
I’m thrilled to have you here. Allow me to introduce myself and give you some insight into my background and learned experiences.

My Years Gone

I was born in 1977 in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG)

I am the eldest of 6 siblings.

My younger years were spent between Rabaul, in East New Britain Province and Port Moresby, National Capital District.

I did most of my schooling in Port Moresby.

In school, I was very active in sports and athletics, track & field.

I had a knack for participating well in sports and athletics,

I was so committed, that I even cried one time when my sports teacher decided to change me over,

I know, embarrassing.

Later in my late teens, I enjoyed, for a couple of years, playing rugby union for a local club.

But if you saw me today, you’d never believe I played any sport, it just amazes me when I think about years gone.

Unfortunately, circumstances that may be, I did not complete my formal years of education to make University, though my siblings have gone through and I am very proud of them, they have done well in earning diplomas/degrees and gaining prospective careers in life.

I was otherwise distracted most of my late teen and young adult life, some may even say, I am still distracted.

I would say, I was thrust into an environment when I was 17 that was my first paying part-time job, and I’ve had to work out some kinks to this day.

The taste of working 8 am to 4 pm and earning.

You give your time, and they give you money, magic.

8AM to 4PM Working Life

Within the following paragraphs, I will delve into my work history and the valuable experiences I have gained over the years:

At 17, I had the privilege of working with our local Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade & Immigration (as it was known back than), with the Immigration & Citizen Division from 1993 to 1995.

It was a casual part-time stint for the holidays during that December period, but I ended up working for almost 2 years with the division.

Sometime after that I took a holiday break and went home to my dads’ village in Yangoru, East Sepik Province, and spent a year there.

My Dad

This was a downtime for me, but it also allowed me to take up some basic computer courses and gain some valuable skills for my next path.

These skills helped me with my next employment opportunity.

From 1997 to 2001, I embarked on a new journey with a local computer company, Daltron Electronics Ltd in Port Moresby.

I started as a services representative, but eventually ended my time there with the sales department.

Following my time at Daltron Electronics, I did a flip in industry.

I joined a shipping company.

From 2002 to 2005, under the banner of New Guinea Australia Line (NGAL), and thereafter, from 2005 to 2010 with Steamships Shipping Agency.

This industry has enabled a broader perspective of the business environment and garnered my experiences.

Business Opportunity and Failure

I found the years in the shipping business to be my formative years that planted the seed to start my own small 3rd Party Shipping Logistics Business and Cargo Handling Service.

It was during that time and at the end of 2010, I started a 3rd party shipping logistics and cargo handling service on an ad-hoc-basis,

but it was not until 2013 that the business was fully registered.

It has been a rewarding experience to steer the company toward some success and navigate the dynamic environment of shipping logistics and cargo handling for almost 8 years.

Of course, with every good run, comes a sad end.

Unfortunately, due to some bad luck and planning during the challenging period of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 the decision to temporarily close the business was made.

I have since, moved to Rabaul/Kokopo, and have started a new job as a Business Manager for a Security company, with my business temporarily on the back burner.

Despite the ongoing challenges, I remain dedicated to overcoming obstacles, learning, being prepared for, and creating new opportunities.

This is where I am today.

Where I Am Today

Today, I continue my adventure, as the Business Manager at Insight Security Services, a Security company I joined in 2022.

Because of all my struggles, my various past experiences, and my business failure, I am driven, always still looking for an opportunity to re-create, learn, and to better prepare myself, recognize potential, and be ready for any opportunity.

Throughout my employments, and the various industries I have been fortunate to serve, I have recognized a constant element, marketing, and today, in this age of information, the power of social media for marketing.

This has currently led me to explore online opportunities and take part in an online course.

To further enhance my skills in this field and capture this opportunity, I am currently undertaking a course called, Blog Growth Engine by Adam Enfroy, a successful blogger and affiliate marketer.

The potential benefits the course offers are immense: and after all these years, I believe I have found the magic of making money (or several special ingredients), to mix and create a batch of success through blogging and affiliate marketing.

Through this course, I aim to apply my learned experiences and to emulate Adam’s success in blogging as a business, and through affiliate marketing to expand on my limits.

If I can walk away with only 5% of what Adam knows and teaches, I know I am on the right path to success.

This blog will capture this journey, by sharing and writing on various topics,

I hope to provide some engaging content, as we explore the world of blogging, content creation, share insights, tips, and values, and inspire others on the same journey.

Thank you for joining me on this adventure!
